Warning. This is a long blog. And you might cry.
Back in May, we took some family photos for Megan and Patrick and their beautiful kiddos. The purpose for the shoot was so that Patrick would have something to look at and smile at when he was away from his family for 6 months, working under the sea. CLICK HERE to see those photos. Then, in August, baby Bryony turned 1, while Daddy was away. So, we took some photos at her PARTY, too. A few months ago, Megan asked us if we’d like to shoot Patrick’s homecoming. OF COURSE! It was all top secret. She couldn’t tell us exactly when the sub was coming in, so we were sort of on-call. Patrick came home yesterday. We spent a crazy exciting, emotional afternoon doing what we love. Four of Megan’s friends wanted in, too. One father got to meet his new son for the first time yesterday. So, here you have it…five perfect love stories. What an honor. Thank you for this sacrifice.
Where’s Waldo? Do you see me?! What a day! Jess and I had to play a zone defense and not lose site of 5 girls mixed in a sea of anxious people. Weddings are usually our biggest work days. But even then, there’s only one bride and groom and it’s pretty obvious who they are 🙂 Thanks Megan, for stretching us, for trusting us and letting us be part of something we’ll never forget. We’re so glad he’s home.

What a beautiful thing to capture the anxious anticipation between our servicemen and their wives/family. The love, joy and peace displayed is a reminder to all of us that those who serve do so not only for our country and themselves, but also for the precious members of their own household. Wives and children waiting, praying for the safe return of their husband/daddy is no light matter. To each and every one of them it is their future and their world!
Job well done!
