Photo (Non)Booth: fun for you. funny for us.

Sat, January 15, 2011 | the (non)booth

In November of 2009, I married my genius husband, Jesse. (Please see the last picture below to put a face to a name.) He’s genius for many reasons, obviously!, but for now let’s just go with this: he dreamed up and created our first photo (non)booth for our wedding day. It was a ridiculously good time. Almost too good of a time that we never published some of the photos taken with that first photo (non)booth.
Since then, we’ve been setting up our photo (non)booth at weddings and parties all over Southern California. This is how it works.
1. As you’ve probably gotten from the name, it’s not really a booth at all.
2. We set up a back drop, studio lights, tripod, camera (optional) seating and monitor. Then it’s game time.
3. We leave a little clicker on the bench, so you can take your own pics. This is genius because Jess and I can continue to shoot all the important details & interactions at the wedding reception or your birthday, anniversary, new year’s, christmas, valentine’s, (insert any/all parties here) party.
4. It’s grand entertainment for wedding guests during that in between ceremony/reception time slot. And for people like Jesse, who HATE to dance during the reception. And for people who LOVE to dance and want to do so in the photo (non)booth.
5. Props are encouraged.
6. We welcome kids of all ages.
7. We encourage you to keep your clothes on.
8. Again, it’s not a booth and it doesn’t print out tiny photos when you’re finished. Instead, we give you a disc with all the high-res images taken in the photo (non)booth. That’s right, all. of. them. Be prepared to see another side of Aunt Linda.
9. Did I mention that picture-takers get to see the image on a big old monitor a second after it’s taken. Again, genius. Immediate results.
