tijuana family portraits.

Jesse and I have been having so much fun shooting weddings and family portraits, but I have to say, yesterday was one of our favorite shoots. EVER. We have a heart for international missions. It’s how we met in South Africa. It’s why we worked for Outside the Bowl. And it’s what gave us the idea to use our photography for something a little different. Our friends Eric and Dejah work for Outside the Bowl and are preparing the way for a super kitchen that will feed thousands every day in Tijuana. We’ve been down to TJ a handful of times to help with that project. But we thought it’d be fun to somehow combine what we do with what they do. So, we went to Tijuana yesterday to take some portraits of families that’ll benefit from Outside the Bowl’s food program. We set up a couple lights and, thankfully, had Eric and Dejah by our side translating and explaining the project (we SERIOUSLY need to get on that Rosetta). It was so awesome to see all the families, dressed in their Sunday best, goofing around trying to get each other to smile and laughing like crazy. Mission accomplished 🙂 So, here is a photo of each family. We will be making prints and delivering them in the near future. Thank you, Eric and Dejah, for setting this up, helping us execute and doing the work you do in Tijuana.

This woman wanted her picture taken with Eric and Dejah’s baby. A little unexpected, but we went with it…with Dejah’s okay, of course.

Jesse and Eric. I couldn’t resist.

Great photos you two. It sounds like you are just as far a long with Rosetta Stone as we are…
