inspired by // caine’s arcade.
Mon, April 16, 2012 | inspirationI’m sure a lot of you have seen this already. But it’s one of those rays of inspiration that’s good to bookmark, just in case you need a little hope or sunshine down the road. I love all of this: Caine’s imagination, his skill, his dad’s encouragement, Nirvan’s curiosity, the community’s excitement and involvement. But my favorite part? That this 9-year-old boy loves and believes in his arcade so much, that despite his lack of customers, he keeps it open till closing time. He continues to make improvements without ANY reassurance that it’s working. He believes in his idea and execution because he enjoys it. There’s no need for recognition to keep him going. Rather, the love for his creation, his arcade, is what makes him happy. And even though, in the end, Caine gets more recognition than he’d probably ever imagined, I have a feeling he would have kept his arcade open even if this video had never existed.
